Film International started in 1973 as Filmhäftet in Sweden and has through the years recruited contributors among the most distinguished scholars and journalists around the world.

The last issue of Filmhäftet (no.124) came out in November 2002. In 2003 the journal changed its name to Film International and became an all-English edition. Film International is completely independent from big media. Which is why we need you as a subscriber.

Film International focuses on longer essays with in-depth-analysis, but it also features interviews, festival reports and an extensive review section on books, special DVD editions and films at the cinema.

In late 2004, Film International underwent a minor re-organization, and is now functioning as a non-profit cultural organization, dedicated to promoting intellectual film culture through our printed magazine and its online equivalen
