Friedrich Kiesler - Lebenswelten stellt einen Visionär der Wiener Moderne vor. Der Künstler, Designer, Architekt, Bühnenbildner und Ausstellungsmacher Friedrich Kiesler (1890–1965) beeinflusste mit seinen avantgardistischen Beiträgen die europäische und amerikanische Architektur- und Kunstszene; bis heute ist sein Werk eine Inspirationsquelle .
Der Katalog beleuchtet Kieslers ganzheitliches Werk und stellt seine Theorie des Correalismus zur Beziehung von Kunstwerk, Mensch und Umgebung ebenso zur Diskussion wie seine innovative Ausstellungspraxis.
Beiträge von zeitgenössischen Künstlern und Künstlerinnen wieLeonor Antunes, Céline Condorelli, Verena Dengler, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, Apolonija Sustersic und Rirkrit Tiravanija öffnen den Blick auf Kieslers Bedeutung für die Gegenwart.
Friedrich Kiesler is one of the great visionary architects of the 20th century. After studying at the Technical University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, he moved to New York in 1926. He developed an oeuvre which remains a source of inspiration for architects and artists to this day. The book presents a holistic view of Kiesler’s work as a conceptual unit – using works, sketches, drawings, photos, and texts.
Friedrich Kiesler. Life Visions introduces a visionary of the Viennese Moderne movement. The artist, designer, architect, stage designer, and exhibition designer Friedrich Kiesler (1890–1965) influenced European and American architecture and art scene with his avant-garde contributions; his oeuvre remains a source of inspiration to this day.
The catalogue illustrates Kiesler’s entire oeuvre and discusses his theory of "correalism" concerning the relationship between works of art, humans, and space, as well as his innovative exhibition design.
Contributions from contemporary artists such as Leonor Antunes, Céline Condorelli, Verena Dengler, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, Apolonija Sustersic, and Rirkrit Tiravanija give an insight into Kiesler’s importance today.
