Flying Furniture
Flying Furniture is an absorbing chronicle of the TECTA furniture factory, which has been redefining modernism for almost 60 years.
Erudite contributions by Jörg Stürzebecher, Peter Smithson and others trace the history of this powerhouse of contemporary design, and of a tradition, begun by Karl-Friedrich Schinkel's cast-iron chairs and the avant-garde Bauhaus masterpieces of Marcel Breuer, Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius, that is alive and well today.
Authors Barry Bergdoll, Louisa Hutton, Andrew Mead, Jean Prouvé, Heinz Rasch, Peter Smithson, Jörg Stürzebecher, Stefan Wewerka
