Gae Aulenti. Objects. Spaces
Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) was one of the most internationally known Italian architects, and the most famous female Italian architect.
Gae Aulenti. Objects. Spaces, which accompanies the exhibition of the same name at the Triennale Design Museum, is dedicated to her, and to her work.
The book, edited by Vanni Pasca, traces Gae Aulenti’s and her love of architecture and design, through a selection of her most important designs. The Sgarsul chair, the King Sun Lamp for the Olivetti showroom in Buenos Aires, the Tennis furniture series, the Il tempo delle vacanze installation for the XIII Triennale (1964), colours for Venini creations: many different focuses to provide a face to Gae’s well-rounded work where designs, spaces and objects are defined by a unitary thought, giving rise narratives that are controlled, but full of emotions caused by elements of strong communicative intensity.
