It features a map along with several graphic illustrations. Each chapter includes an additional list of places, streets, and buildings that showcase Kala's self-reliant character. At the same time, the visual material highlights its unique details, diverse textures, and often-overlooked features. The main text is complemented by a series of excerpts that interweave to form a historical narrative.
