Metal Skins

Advances and innovations in architecture are influenced decisively by new material solutions and technologies, and this is reflected in recent developments with respect to the cladding of buildings. Sixteen various projects, which each address this subject in their own individual way are examined through plans and photographs. Projects featured include: Tschumi's Vacheron Constantin Headquarters, Geneva; Chipperfield's Des Moines Public Library, Iowa; Périphériques architectes' Atrium Building for the Pierre et Marie Curie University, Paris; and , spillmann echsle architekten's Freitag Flagship Store, Zurich.
