Bei der Buchpräsentation ist Les Back anwesend, Professor für Soziologie am Goldsmiths College London und Beiträger des Buchs. Mit den Autoren Rolf Lindner (Professor emeritus für Europäische Ethnologie an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) und Moritz Ege (Professor für Kulturanthropologie/Europäische Ethnologie an der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen) diskutiert er die kulturelle Bedeutung von Tattoos und Jeans in London und Berlin, die Kunst des Feldforschens und das Imaginäre der Stadt. Die Herausgeberin Anja Schwanhäußer moderiert. Die Künstlerin Nele Brönner stellt Feldforschungs-Comics aus dem Buch aus.

The city is more than demography and architecture, it is a state of mind. Various groups, scenes and subcultures, widely known as "(wo)man in the street", shape and are shaped by urban space and its history according to imaginations, nightmares and dreams. Urban anthropologists get immersed in this closely knit fabric of urban culture and conduct field research with all their senses.
The reader provides a compact introduction into urban anthropology, which has become the key discipline in exploring cities and city live as sites of encounter, conflict and sensation. It introduces the most influential writers in the field as well as young and upcoming field researchers.
For the book release, Les Back is present, Professor for Sociology at Goldsmiths College in London and contributor of the book. Together with the authors Rolf Lindner (Professor emeritus for European Ethnology at Humboldt-University Berlin) and Moritz Ege (Professor for Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology at Georg-August-University Göttingen) he discusses the cultural meaning of tattoos and jeans in London and Berlin, the art of field research and the imaginary of the city. Editor Anja Schwanhäußer is moderating. Artist Nele Brönner exhibits fieldresearch comics from the book.
